Instructions to Chairpersons & Speakers

Chairpersons:

A chairperson's role is to make opening remarks at the start of the session and symposium, introduce each speaker, field questions from the audience and to keep everything to time. The chairperson will be also asked to make announcements to delegates.

Chairpersons may allow direct questions from the delegates or may categorize/classify the questions and direct them to the speakers at the end of the lecture.

Speakers:

The speakers in the SAPH 2017 will present their own research and give up-to-date presentations. SAPH 2017 is a unique opportunity to share your work and research with your peers.

The time allotment for each speech is 20 minutes (unless otherwise indicated). There are 5 minutes of questions from the audience at the end.

The speaker should bring PowerPoint slides of their presentation on a USB flash-drive (memory sticks) to the venue of this congress. The organizers will copy these files on the general laptop for beamer projection. All speakers should submit the PowerPoint slides one day before their speech to the registration desk. All PowerPoint slides will be scanned for viruses and subsequently loaded on the main projector computer for the following day's presentations. Speakers could make changes to their presentations through registration desk and are strongly encouraged to bring an additional electronic copy for added security against unanticipated software/hardware defectiveness.

  • Use of your own laptop is not convenient and not recommended
  • Movies: If movies are in your PowerPoint files, please make sure they are well formatted and connected to the main files
  • Timing: Please make sure your presentation is well timed, and is within the allocated time slot in the program. Please consider that the program is full and that other speakers would also like their allocated time available to them.

The Saudi Association for Pulmonary Hypertension would like to keep a copy of all slides on PDF format for teaching purposes. If the speaker is not keen to share his slides, he/she should inform the organizing committee to delete the slides from the system after the presentation.
